Craft Workshops of Florence: Private Tour
An authentic, inimitable Florence. Florence walking through the workshops of renowned artisans all over the world. We will see how the Florentine marble paper is painted by hand, how the famous hard stone inlaid works from the only craftsman who still produces it.
- The Opicifio delle pietre dure was born under Ferdinando I dei Medici in 1588, but as early as the eighteenth century the inlaid of hard stones was no longer produced because of its too high cost.
- We will have the opportunity to see the refined and very difficult processing! Also: have you ever been in a real goldsmith's shop?
- Our tour will take us to one of the old Florentine houses where gold is still worked by hand!
