Visit to the house of Giorgio Vasari, the architect of the Uffizi and the Vasari Corrido

Perhaps not everyone knows that in Florence there is also a private sixteenth-century residence with exclusive frescoes by Giorgio Vasari, which can only be visited for a limited time. The owner of this house in the sixteenth century was him, the artist Giorgio Vasari. The interior frescoes created by the artist have been carefully restored. After the restoration work, the current owners decided to make it accessible to visitors, but only for a few years. It is therefore our duty not to miss the opportunity to admire the private frescoes of Giorgio Vasari, which in a few years we will no longer be allowed to admire.

  • Who is Giorgio Vasari? An artist whose works we all know, but whose name doesn't make as much noise as the one of his master Michelangelo
  • Architect, painter, sculptor and art historian, Vasari wrote the "Lives", telling the biography of the famous Renaissance artists to the future generations.
  • Giorgio Vasari created the monumental works of sixteenth-century Florence, such as the Uffizi Gallery and the Vasari Corridor, the covered passage between Palazzo Vecchio and Palazzo Pitti.
